Airplanes & Apple Juice.

There’s something about riding airplanes that makes me feel giddy…like its my first time every time.  I even like the pre-flight rituals, i.e. baggage check.  There’s something about taking my shoes off, placing all my belongings in the trays & going through the metal detector as fast as possible that excites me lol.  When I board the plane, I anxiously check all the cool little travel guides in the front pocket of my seat.  With Virgin Air, they have nifty monitors where you can listen to albums for free—so they are definitely atop my airlines list.  Getting the window seat is a must or it ruins the whole thing for me.  What’s the point of being so high up if i can’t gaze down at the mountains and cities?  Anyway the very best part about the flight..the icing on the cake…is when the stewardess strolls down the aisle in her little beverage cart and i get to order apple juice with ice.  I like the sound of her (never had a guy stewardess before) scooping the ice into my cup and carefully pouring the juice, then delicately placing it on top of a napkin to hand to me.  I don’t even like apple juice, but when you’re thousands of feet above the ground…it’s the little things that make you feel right at home.  I realize that this blog sounds a lot like a pointless waste of blog space…but i think the reason why i love the whole flight experience is because i continually long to jet set and get nostalgic on the amazing trips that have passed.  On that note, hopefully I get to have my apple juice on the rocks later this fall to a whole new destination :)
